Robert Barberena De La Rocha is a Nicaraguan Painter, Photographer, Graphic Designer, Set Designer and Printmaker. He develops his artistic career between Nicaragua and Costa Rica. He attended the School of Fine Arts in Granada and the National School of Arts in Managua, Nicaragua, he has received several art courses and workshops in Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
He has various solo exhibition and he has participated in more than 80 group exhibitions in Central America, Costa Rica, France, Mexico, Spain and the United States.
He has received various awards, among them: Mention of Honor in Sculpture, School of Fine Arts in Granada (1980). First Place in Pastel Chalk, International Festival of Arts (FIA), San Jose, Costa Rica (1992). First Place in the National Printmaking Contest, Casa de los Tres Mundos, Granada, Nicaragua (1997).
He has painted mural in several cities in Germany, Costa Rica and Nicaragua, most notable are the murals he painted in his hometown Granada and in the city of Jena, Germany.
His work are included in many public and private collections around the world.
